This 91,500-square-foot project combined new construction and renovation to reimagine the Arapahoe Public Schools campus. The work included a 44,156-square-foot addition to the high school and the transformation of the existing elementary building into updated high school classrooms. New spaces include an elementary classroom wing, a secure main entrance with an administration area, a media center, art and resource rooms, a kitchen, a commons area, and a competition gym with locker rooms and a weight room. The existing library was converted into an agricultural shop.
Upgrades to the existing elementary school brought the facility up to code and ADA compliance. The project also included the installation of fire suppression piping and a new fire alarm system, site improvements with paved parking, and security enhancements throughout. The existing 1920s high school building was demolished as part of the scope. Hausmann provided pre-bond support to help the district communicate project goals and secure the funding.
