Eppley Airfield Parking Garage & Customer Service Center

Omaha,

The Eppley Airfield Parking Garage project included the new construction of a six-level, 3,000-stall post-tensioned concrete structure directly connected to a 20,047-square-foot Customer Service Building. The building features floor-to-ceiling glass walls and a signature oval glass floor in the sitting lounge, supported by 32 angled structural steel columns that connect to angled concrete foundations. Above, the columns tie into structural steel beams with angled connection plates, forming one of the most technically complex assemblies of the project. A heated skywalk links the facility to the existing parking garage, while a new 2,302-square-foot ticketing office and exit plaza with nine exit lanes allows for efficient traffic flow.

Due to its technical complexity, this project was the 2020 Winner of the American Concrete Institute, Award of Outstanding Achievement.
