The Maclay Building project at Northeast Community College involved the complete demolition and removal of the existing facility and construction of a new 53,000-square-foot academic building on the same site. The replacement approach allowed the college to modernize its instructional spaces while maintaining continuity within the campus footprint.
The new building includes general classrooms, offices, restrooms, and a range of support spaces designed to meet current academic and operational needs. Mechanical systems are housed within a dedicated penthouse and mechanical courtyard, improving system performance, accessibility, and long-term maintainability.
