Women in Construction (WIC) Week is a national celebration led by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). Held annually during the first full week of March, it recognizes the women shaping our industry and highlights the expanding opportunities available across construction.
At Hausmann, the week serves as a reflection of our ongoing commitment to visibility, access, and leadership for women across the organization and throughout the industry.
How We Celebrate WIC Week
At Hausmann, Women in Construction Week has become a consistent opportunity to bring together the women across our locations for a dedicated day. Team members from every office and discipline step away from their day-to-day with a simple goal: create space to connect, share experiences, and strengthen our own internal network.
The day typically begins with a volunteer initiative that reflects Hausmann’s commitment to the communities where we live and build. By working side by side on a service project, we reinforce a culture of generosity and responsibility beyond the job site.
We also incorporate a tour of an in-progress or completed Hausmann project. For many team members whose work happens behind the scenes, this is a chance to see the physical outcome of the work they support every day. Walking through a finished space or active jobsite highlights the collective effort behind every project and reminds everyone that each role contributes to the final result.
The day wraps up with a shared experience that gives everyone a chance to relax, laugh, and enjoy time together outside the pace of the jobsite.
Raising the Bar in 2026
This year, the Hausmann team used WIC Week as an opportunity to raise the bar for how our industry recognizes, supports, and develops women in construction. Our goal was to expand access, strengthen connections, and create a greater impact in our local networks. We built three initiatives that extended beyond our own offices into the communities, classrooms, and professional networks that shape the future of construction.
Reading to Elementary School Students: We expanded our outreach to elementary classrooms across our projects in each of our six markets, where team members read a children’s book written and created by the Hausmann Marketing Team about women in construction. The goal was to introduce young girls to careers they may not have previously considered.
Celebrating Women in Construction Week on College Campuses: Hausmann team members connected with future construction professionals across college campuses in our markets, providing free breakfast and career pathway information to students. The goal was to highlight the many roles women hold within our organization.
Hosting Local Industry Partners: Hausmann hosted gatherings in Lincoln and Fort Collins to bring together industry partners—including architects, engineers, consultants, and clients—to celebrate the role women play across every part of the construction process. These conversations highlighted the collaborative nature of the industry and created space for new connections and shared learning.
As the industry continues to evolve, Hausmann remains committed to helping lead that progress across our projects, markets, and partnerships.
